In addition the picture quality
of a relatively low grade plasma, 600$, is leaps and bounds above my
older LCD.

Jordan Patterson

Re: Media Center Walkthrough

You mentioned the reflection of your TV - which I know is what everyone uses to say Plasmas are no good for such a case as yours. Even though every CRT TV was reflective and in everyone's living rooms for decades...but I digress. Does the reflection bother you at all? I assume from your comments that any reflection still ends up with a better picture than your LCD.

Re: Apple TV version 3.0 on a 4:3 SD TV

Don't know the operating temperature but mine is hot as well. I put it on sleep as often as I can. But this brings up the issue: why aren't Apple devices (ATV, Airports) supplied with an on/off switch? They are supposed to support energy efficient and ecological devices...

Re: Videos

My Hard drive crashed and I lost all my pictures. Often, if you don't see the light changing to amber color, it means the ATV did not switched properly. In my several tests I sometimes succeeded to get it working even with the light staying white all the time.

Re: Apple TV version 3.0 on a 4:3 SD TV

Ok, I finally managed to get it working. However I have to go through a tricky sequence, where I have to plug and unplug the HDMI, quickly change resolution and then plugin the composite cable. It looks the issue is to force it to go in the amber light mode, and only then switch back to Composite. If the amber light does not switch on, it won't work for me.

Re: Apple TV version 3.0 on a 4:3 SD TV

Not sure, but do you have an HDMI or Component input on your TV? If you don't, you probably have to go through the fix. My understanding is that the fix allows AppleTV to output a Composite signal, as required by most old TVs.

Re: Apple TV version 3.0 on a 4:3 SD TV

I haven't updated mine yet, I will report back as soon as I update it.

Jordan Patterson

Re: Apple TV version 3.0 on a 4:3 SD TV

Hi, this is puzzling me.
